How to use
- Use at 48 px or largerEvery bead is drawn as on a real soroban, so below 48 px the beads become hard to tell apart. In flyers and documents, please use the icons as large as you can.
- Changing the colorThe SVG files in the ZIP use currentColor for their color. Embedded in a web page, they take the color of the surrounding text, which you can change with the CSS color property. Opened on their own, they appear in black.
- On a colored backgroundAll icons have a transparent background. On a dark background, please choose white or use the white PNGs in the ZIP.

Questions about the diagrams
May I use the icons on our school's sign or in our website logo?
You may use them to decorate signs and websites. However, a logo or mark that uses the icons may not be registered as a trademark.
May I change the shapes or combine the icons with other images?
Yes. You may change their color or size and combine them with text or other images. Modified icons may not be distributed as materials.
Is the number of beads correct?
Yes. Every soroban has one five-bead and four one-beads on each rod, and beads that are not set rest away from the bar. “Soroban with a number” shows 0, 6, 2 and 8 on four rods, and “Numbers” show 0 to 9 on a single rod.
